Ted Martin and Amy Rothman Malone Obtain Defense Verdict in Medical Liability Case

On January 25, 2023, Flaherty Sensabaugh Bonasso PLLC partners Ted Martin and Amy Rothman Malone obtained a defense verdict in a medical negligence case following a three-day trial in the Circuit Court of Kanawha County, West Virginia, Honorable Maryclaire Akers presiding. The plaintiff alleged that the defendant did not properly treat her post-operative hematoma, which developed following a Mohs surgery procedure, resulting in permanent discoloration of her face. The defense maintained that the patient was properly treated and counseled regarding the post-operative complication. After deliberating for two hours, the jury found in favor of the defendant.
