January 2018

We are very pleased to announce the expansion of Flaherty's geographical footprint in West Virginia with the opening of a new office in Clarksburg. Managing Member Michael Bonasso said it was really important for the firm to be downtown.

"We found that being downtown, in the community with boots on the ground so to speak, allows us to contribute more and we think Clarksburg is a real opportunity spot in the state of West Virginia," said Bonasso.

Officials from the city of Clarksburg hosted a grand opening ribbon cutting for the new office at 205 West Main Street.

“We’re very proud to have you as a new business in our community,” Clarksburg Mayor Cathy Goings said. “We realize there are many opportunities throughout the county to open a business but we are very excited that you chose downtown Clarksburg.”

Flaherty’s expansion into Clarksburg will add lifelong Clarksburg attorneys James and Carmine Cann. James and Carmine bring capabilities to the firm that complement and expand upon current practice areas. In addition to serving as the attorney for the City of Clarksburg, James works in real estate, oil/gas and mineral law, estates, wills and small business limited liability issues. Carmine has been practicing law for 63 years advising businesses and estates on a variety of commercial and personal matters.

With an on-the-ground presence in Clarksburg, Flaherty brings its northern client base greater strength and flexibility.  “We believe that our firm’s depth and experience will be of great advantage to businesses in the area,” Bonasso stated.
