Overview

Growing up with a dentist for a father and being around many other doctors and attorney friends of the family, Salem Smith chose the best of both worlds, ultimately concentrating on medical malpractice defense. Today, Salem brings more than 20 years of experience to Flaherty, focusing entirely on defending health care providers and hospitals.

“I take pride in always being the most prepared counsel in the courtroom.  A complete understanding of the medicine involved in each case is critical.”

Although Salem has measurable success in the courtroom and before the Board of Medicine, he believes a large part of his job is to lessen the emotional turmoil that often comes with a medical malpractice claim.

“I truly care about my clients and their practices, and this helps to strengthen our trust and defense. My clients expect 100% devotion to obtaining the best outcome possible for their case – and that’s what they get.”
