Overview
Olubunmi Kusimo-Frazier is an accomplished trial attorney whose practice focuses on medical malpractice, civil defense, and complex litigation. With experience as a prosecutor, defense attorney, and counsel to the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, she brings a distinctive perspective to challenging legal matters and a strategic approach shaped by her work on nearly every side of the courtroom.
Olubunmi understands that clients often seek legal representation during some of the most challenging moments of their personal or professional lives. She combines thorough preparation, creative problem-solving, and determined advocacy with straightforward communication, ensuring clients understand their options and have a clear strategy moving forward.
Her extensive legal experience includes defending medical device and product liability claims in state and federal courts, handling complex litigation, and advising organizations on a broad range of legal matters. During her tenure with the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, she drafted more than 100 memorandum decisions and later led the state's 55 magistrate courts and approximately 450 employees. This experience provides valuable insight into how cases are evaluated, litigated, and ultimately decided.
Beyond her litigation practice, Olubunmi serves as general counsel to nonprofit organizations, represents clients in Freedom of Information Act matters, and serves as a hearing examiner in administrative proceedings. She is also passionate about expanding access to justice. As the founder of JusticeReach.ai, a free AI-powered legal information platform, she works to make the legal system more understandable and accessible to individuals and families.
An active leader in the legal profession and her community, Olubunmi serves on the boards of YWCA Charleston and the West Virginia Bar Foundation and is a commissioner on the West Virginia Juvenile Justice Commission. Her professional achievements have earned recognition from National Black Lawyers, the National Trial Lawyers, and numerous civic organizations.
For Olubunmi, the most rewarding part of practicing law is helping clients navigate difficult circumstances while protecting their livelihoods, reputations, and futures. She approaches every matter with the conviction that preparation, perspective, and relentless advocacy can make a meaningful difference.
